The Minnetonka boys hockey team lost its only game of the week, falling 4-1 to No. 2AA Holy Angels.

"They were a good hockey team, but we had plenty of chances," said head coach Ken Pauly. "I'd like to see them again."

John Twaddle scored the Skippers' only goal in the game, but Jack Paul had missed on a pair of breakaways and Sam Coatta couldn't handle what would have been a no-doubter as the Skippers fell to 3-3 on the year.

"It was weird because typically we bury those," Pauly said. "We're not worried though. If we were playing bad and losing, I'd be worried. But we have been playing pretty well."

The Skippers will look to get that record back up over .500 this week. They play host to Chaska Thursday.

The boys basketball team faced a pair of tough teams this week, and they ended up splitting a pair of games with Henry Sibley and Chaska.

Early in the week, Tonka fell to Henry Sibley 82-71 despite having five players score in double figures.

Friday, the Skippers rebounded to take down Chaska 62-55.

Anthony Tucker led all scorers with 23 points and Andrew Latzke pitched in with 11 in the win.

Minnetonka has just one game scheduled for this week. The Skippers will play host to Minneapolis Southwest Thursday.

The girls basketball team also went 1-1 in two games last week.

The Skippers lost to Rogers 57-44 early in the week, but responded with a 59-39 win over Chaska Friday.

Lauren Comer led the way with 10 points in that loss to Rogers and Elle Queen poured in 21 in the win over Chaska.

This week Minnetonka will play host to Forest Lake Friday in an afternoon matinee. The game is scheduled for 1 p.m.

The girls hockey team lost both of its games last week, dropping a 4-1 decision to Edina and a 1-0 overtime loss to Hopkins.

Kristi Cleveland scored Tonka's lone goal in the loss to Edina.

This week, the Skippers visit No. 1A Blake Thursday.

The wrestling team faced Buffalo and Shakopee in a triangular Friday, losing both matches.

Ben Cox, Colton Gleason, Andrew Borth, Andrew Hanske and Wesley Reardon each won both of their matches in the triangular. Reardon's wins improved his season record to 11-0.
