Knuth is volleyball player of the week

Chrissy Knuth, a 2007 Champlin Park High School graduate and current North Dakota State University freshman, was recently named the Summit League Women's Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week.

Knuth had a match- and career-high 26 kills and hit .479 to lead the Bison to a 3-1 victory at IUPUI last Saturday. She had nine kills at Western Illinois and added a match- and career-high seven blocks in the 3-0 win.

The honor is the second award of the year for Knuth.

CAGFA meeting dates and seeks volunteers

The Cooper Armstrong Girls Fastpitch Association will meet at 7 p.m. the third Monday of each month at Sanborn Park in Robbinsdale.

Also, the association is currently seeking volunteer to fill vacant board member positions.

If interested, attend one of the monthly meetings.

Brooklyn Area Babe Ruth needs coaches

The Brooklyn Area Babe Ruth baseball teams are looking for volunteer coaches for the 2009 season.

The deadline to volunteer is Monday, Dec. 1.

New Hope offers adult open gyms this fall

The New Hope Parks and Recreation Department is currently offering adult open gym basketball on Monday and Tuesday evenings and adult open gym volleyball on Thursday evenings at the New Hope Community Gyms.

The cost is $3 per visit at the door or $20 for a 10-punch pass, and open gym sessions are scheduled from 7:45 to 9:45 p.m.
