Somers: Two-time Bloomington Jefferson girls soccer MVP

Senior Lauren Somers received Jefferson girls soccer team's Most Valuable Player award for the second consecutive season.

Somers also earned all-conference, all-metro and all-state honors.

Mackenzie Thayer and Dana Hanson were recipients of Jaguar Awards. Academic Awards went to Thayer and Aimee Broman.

Lauren Zenk netted the Newcomer Award and Logan Williamson received the Practice Player of the Year honor.

Jefferson's all-conference selections were Somers, Thayer, Nicole Neumann and Maren Werth.

Abbey Turgeon, Alex Koller and Williamson earned all-conference honorable mention.

Werth gained all-state honorable mention.

Werth and Williamson will be Jefferson's co-captains during the 2009 season.

Jefferson's girls soccer squad was awarded the Academic Gold honor with a team cumulative grade-point average of 3.84.
