EV girls lacrosse coach
Lauren DeZellar has been hired as Eastview High School head girls lacrosse coach.
DeZellar, an assistant coach at Apple Valley last spring, replaces Garnet Asmundson, who is leaving to become head boys lacrosse coach at Simley.
DeZellar played for Eden Prairie from 2000-04 and helped her team qualify for four state tournaments. The Eagles won the state club championship in her freshman year and won the Minnesota State High School League championship when she was a senior.
She went on to the College of Wooster in Wooster, Ohio, where she was a four-year letter-winner. Wooster won a conference championship and made an NCAA tournament appearance while DeZellar was there. She graduated in 2008 with a bachelor's degree in communications and a minor in education.
DeZellar has coached youth lacrosse in Eden Prairie for the last seven years and was an assistant coach for the Hamline University women's club team. She also coaches and directs camps and clinics.
DeZellar is pursuing a master's degree in teaching, including a teaching licensure program, at Hamline University.
