Students at three Brooklyn Park elementary schools - Woodland, Edinbrook and Crestview - received a visit from a Blackhawk helicopter and its crew at the end of October. The flight crew talked to the Osseo School District sixth graders about staying safe and staying in school, as will as giving them a tour of the chopper as well. The visit was part of the DARE program offered through the Brooklyn Park Police Department. DARE is a national program aimed at giving kids the skills to avoid involvement in drugs, gangs and violence.
The Benilde-St. Margaret's drama department will present this year's fall play, "You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown," Nov. 6-8 at the St. Louis Park school. Show times are 7 p.m. Nov. 6 and 7, and 2 p.m. Nov. 8. Tickets are $10 for adults, $6 for students and seniors and children under age 5 are free. Reserve tickets by visiting

There will be a pancake breakfast Saturday, Nov. 7 to help support North Memorial's Junior Volunteer Scholarship Fund. The breakfast will be from 8 to 10 a.m. at the Applebee's off of Brookdale Drive in Brooklyn Center. The cost is $6 and payable at the door.
