For its presentation of "Guys and Dolls" held Saturday night, Nov. 14, the Fridley High School Drama Department sent out a special invitation to all Fridley alumni who were involved in the school's first production of this musical in 1981. Thom Melcher, a resident of Golden Valley, was one of a few alumni involved with that production 28 years ago to attend Saturday night's performance.

Melcher had the role of Police Lt. Brannigan, and met with Fridley freshman John Steinmann, who plays Brannigan in the current cast, after Saturday's show. Melcher spoke about the fun in coming back to Fridley, and spoke highly of Steinmann's performance:

"Guys and Dolls" is scheduled for three more performances on the Fridley stage Thursday through Saturday, Nov. 19-21. Reserved seating is $9 for adults, $6 for students and seniors. For more information, visit www.FridleyDrama.org
