Lakeville native gets presidential phone call while serving overseas - Sun Current Today TV News - Tuesday, Dec. 1
Senior Airman Ashley Jackson, a Lakeville native, was one of 10 U.S. service personnel to receive a personal Thanksgiving phone call from President Obama Nov. 26. Jackson got the call at Forward Operating Base Morales-Frazier, Afghanistan, where she serves as a medic with Provincial Reconstruction Team Kapisa. She is deployed from Eielson Air Force Base in Alaska.
According to the U.S. Air Force, Jackson was riding in a vehicle that was hit by an improvised explosive device in Afghanistan's Kapisa Province in September. She helped stabilize injured soldiers, and earned a Purple Heart.
