Letter: Britton is integrity
Integrity.
Now there's an old-fashioned word, meaning "the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles."
On Sept. 27 I listened to the candidates' debate sponsored by the League of Women Voters.
Rep. Sarah Anderson, State House incumbent in District 43A, again stated that she supported education and care for the poor and vulnerable citizens of Minnesota. Yet her voting record shows anything but support!
Anderson continued to vote against infrastructure funding for our transportation system, even after the 35W Bridge collapse.
The list of "no" votes goes on and on.
When Anderson votes against these things, she must have her reasons. Let her state them, not use double talk that leads us to believe that she supports what she, in fact, opposes.
Audrey Britton, in contrast, is not a career politician. She has 25 years of real world business experience (and currently is a small-business owner), has seen her children through the public school system and is not afraid to think for herself.
Britton gets it that we are a community - what affects some of us affects all of us, not just in Plymouth and Medicine Lake, but across the whole state.
Whether in education, health care, business or other arenas of public life, she offers experience and - there's that word again - integrity.
I urge Plymouth and Medicine Lake residents to vote for Audrey Britton.
Evelyn Headen,
Plymouth
