Elise Longley was the highest finisher among Jefferson cross country runners at the Bauman/Rovn Cross Country Invitational Sept. 4 at Gale Woods Farm in Minnetrista. Longley, a sophomore, covered the 4K course in a 34th-place time of 16 minutes, 22.8 seconds. Jefferson’s girls swimming team lost a close encounter during Metro West Conference dual meet action last week. The Jaguars almost pulled out the triumph before losing 92-91 to Richfield Sept. 11.
